As they prepare for graduation in May, the three former co-editors-in-chief are confident that <em>The Muddraker<\/em> will continue to thrive. \u201cWe really tried to make recruiting a priority so that there would be students to pass it off to when we leave,\u201d says Madruga.<\/p>\n<p>So far, so good. Co-editors-in-chief William La \u201922 and Michelle Lum \u201923 and the rest of the staff successfully produced the March issue of the paper even as COVID-19 restrictions presented challenges. In their letter from the editors, they write, \u201cWith all the recent concerns over coronavirus, and the disruption to this semester, we wanted to publish <em>The Muddraker<\/em> as a reminder that we\u2019re still very much a community here at Mudd. Wherever you are, whoever you are with, know that [we] Mudders will always be there for each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>La says he hopes to do more advice articles in future issues. Kyle Grace \u201921 , the chief of photography, hopes to do more current events-type articles, \u201crecounting things as they happen,\u201d he says. \u201cWe\u2019re also really looking to grow the online presence of <em>The Muddraker<\/em>, so keep a look out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Katheryn Wang \u201923 lists \u201cRanking of Mudd Toilets\u201d as her favorite <em>Muddraker<\/em> article since she\u2019s been on the staff. As the paper\u2019s chief of business, Wang says she also hopes to do more current events-focused articles.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by \u201cPROFiles,\u201da popular <em>Muddraker<\/em> feature in which editors ask professors straightforward and quirky questions about their lives and experiences, we\u2019ve used a similar format for this interview with the staff.<\/p>\n<h2>What do you think <em>The Muddraker<\/em> will be like 40 years from now?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kyle Grace \u201921\u2014<\/strong>I hope it will be like what it is now, a fun and enjoyable account of what students\u2019 lives are like here at Mudd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel Schibler \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Probably a lot more digital and hopefully thriving!<\/p>\n<p><strong> Katheryn Wang \u201923\u2014<\/strong>I think we will be even larger and closer in style and quality to a public newspaper.<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s your secret talent?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Hannah Larson \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Falling asleep in public places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tiffany Madruga \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Balancing things on my head.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel Schibler \u201920\u2014<\/strong>I can flip my belly button inside out!<\/p>\n<h2>Describe your personal style.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>William La \u201922\u2014<\/strong>I dress to impress myself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Larson \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Somewhere between business casual and sitting in the Bernard Field Station.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katheryn Wang \u201923\u2014<\/strong> Renaissance, history bounding (contemporary clothing styled after a historical period or person), if I could afford it.<\/p>\n<h2>If you could interview anyone (living or not) for <em>The Muddraker<\/em>, who would it be?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>William La \u201922\u2014<\/strong>The person who created <em>The Muddraker<\/em> (Ian McCutcheon \u201983).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel Schibler \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Harvey Mudd himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katheryn Wang \u201923\u2014<\/strong>Bernadette Banner (a dress historian, seamstress and YouTube star).<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s your personal motto?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tiffany Madruga \u201920\u2014<\/strong>Own what you do.
